SGiMED Hummingbird's Telemedicine is Coming This June!

Many of you have been asking us about our Telemedicine, and we are proud to announce that SGIMED’s Telemedicine will be launched this June!

The reason why we came out with the application is that we want to allow our doctors to be able to provide additional care to their patients, especially during times like this. It can be extremely beneficial for both doctors and patients.

The biggest differentiation between our Telemedicine App and other existing telemedicine apps or CMS’s Telemedicine is that SGIMED’s Telemedicine is integrated with our CMS. This allows you to do teleconsultation with our CMS, instead of having to use through your mobile devices.

What does this mean?

This means SGiMED not only provide our clinics with our Clinic Management System (Hummingbird E-Clinic), on top on that, we offer an additional telemedicine platform, which can allow our doctors provide additional patient care.

Integrated Platform

Our Telemedicine Application is integrated with our Hummingbird E-Clinic.

Therefore, doctors can still use their Hummingbird E-clinic to do a teleconference with their patients, who is using their mobile devices.

Additional Communication Tool Between Doctors and Patients

Our app that doctor to have a record of the chat with the patients, and if patients were to upload certain documents back. The doctor can easily upload it into their CMS, directly to the patient’s profile. As our telemedicine app is integrated with SGIMED Hummingbird.

Viewing of Patient Notes

Doctors can still view their notes from your CMS while they are doing their teleconsult. This can allow the doctors to be able to look through the past medical history of his patients and also key in important notes in the midst of the consultation.

Additional Patient Care for Chronic Patients

What sets us apart is that we allow the doctor to utilize SMARTCMS, to allowing them to do CDMP claims for the patients. This is especially useful for both the doctors, who can still provide the care needed, as well as their elderly patients that still need to visit doctors from time to time for their chronic diseases follow-up.

With this, the doctor can still provide their services via teleconsultation and then arrange for delivery for the medicine to the patient’s doorsteps. Reducing the need for elderlies to leave their house to visit the clinic physically.

To fulfil potential, telehealth must be universally available.

WITH healthcare systems around the world under increasing strain from ageing populations, rising rates of chronic diseases and widespread skills shortages, telehealth is being heralded as a silver bullet to help precious medical resources go further.

In simple terms, "telehealth" refers to the use of technology to provide certain healthcare services remotely. This can take the shape of the secure sharing of medical images and information between professionals on different sites for better collaboration and workload distribution.

Benefits of telehealth

Telehealth has numerous benefits for both healthcare practitioners and patients.

Firstly, it enhances access by bringing care within reach of more people. For example, it can enable remote patient monitoring whereby patients can receive diagnosis, treatment or condition management from the comfort of their homes, without having to physically see a doctor or stay in a hospital. This is great for providing care for elderly and less mobile patients, as well as people living in remote areas where healthcare facilities are not easily accessible.

Telehealth can also boost efficiency. By enabling care to be delivered quickly across time zones and geographies, it can reduce overall costs and promote better outcomes. For example, it can promote collaboration by enabling the secure sharing of medical information between clinicians at different locations. In practical terms, this means that travel time of consultants can be cut down or eliminated, to be reallocated to patient care.

COVID-19: CHAS, MediSave to be extended to cover video consultations for 7 chronic conditions

SINGAPORE: From Apr 3, patients who qualify for the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) and MediSave payments can go for their regular follow-ups of seven chronic conditions through video consultation.

This is to help patients avoid physical visits at the clinic amid the COVID-19 outbreak, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a news release on Tuesday (Mar 31).

Currently, CHAS subsidies and MediSave are only available for physical consultations.

To support safe distancing, this “time-limited and exceptional extension" of CHAS and MediSave for video consultation will apply to patients with diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorder, major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety.

“Patients with these conditions can generally be managed through video consultations without physical examination if these conditions are stable. Together, they also account for a high proportion of patients who use CHAS and MediSave for their chronic treatments,” said MOH.

The extension will remain in place until the deactivation of the Public Health Preparedness Clinic (PHPC) scheme, or otherwise determined by the Health Ministry, it added.
