Smart Healthcare – The Workflow Delivery of Telemedicine

After which, AI technology provides an evaluation of these intraoral photos to provide a detailed assessment of the patient’s health. A dental professional provides personalised treatment or recommendation [3]. It is not suitable for dental emergencies which require immediate assistance by a dental professional or hospital emergency department [4].


Teleradiology

Teleradiology supports medical professionals with the ability to conduct interpretation of medical images, providing recommendations of relevant examination or treatments to medical organisations, albeit from afar. The workflow process of teleradiology requires transmission of the patient’s scan images to a location where a radiologist is available [5], rendering expertise to medical organisations that are short of radiology experts. In times of emergency where there is a lack of radiology professionals for the patients, the medical organisation can leverage Teleradiology for timely decisions of the patient’s treatment plan.

Health care providers globally continue to be challenged amid the pandemic that requires them to pivot, adapt and innovate to meet the changing demands in their immediate environment.
